We are located in the mountains of Western Maryland, about 25 minutes from Deep Creek Lake, 30 minutes from Cumberland, Frostburg Md.and Grantsville Md., 15 minutes from Keyser West Virginia and 10 minutes from Westernport, Md. To get here from the East (D.C, Baltimore, N. Virginia) take I-70West to I-68West and after passing Cumberland Md. take exit 34 (Md Rt 36) to Westernport Md., then right on Md. Rt. 135 for about 2 miles, then take a right on Savage River Rd. (just past the cemetery in Bloomington) and go about 3 miles to Savage River Outfitters Fly Shop and Homes on the Savage River tailwater.
If coming from the West, take I-68 to the Friendsville Md. exit (Md. Rt 42) toward Deep Creek Lake to a right on Md. Rt. 219. Go about 5 mile to a left on Glendale Rd., to a right on N. Glade. Go about another 3 miles to a left on Spring Lick Rd. Follow Spring Lick to Savage River Rd....then turn right and go about 3 miles to the fly shop and homes on the Savage River tailwater (about 2 miles below the Dam on Savage River Reservoir).
NOTE: be careful using GPS....some of the phone apps are not accurate and may take you on a roundabout way, or take you to the wrong location....usually about a half mile upstream of the fly shop. I highly recommend using the directions above.
